Ozone Therapy: A Minimally Invasive Technique for Simple or Surgical Oral Treatments
Modern dentistry is a marvel and leveraged throughout Aria Dental but with the case of ozone therapy, nature is used to provide the holistic & biological dentistry that makes a remarkable difference in oral and overall health.
As a certified holistic & biological dental office in Orange County, we proudly utilize different applications of ozone (O3) therapy during simple to surgical dental treatments to eliminate pharmaceutical drugs and their side effects.

What Is Ozone (O3) Therapy?
OPTIMIZE THE BIOME OF THE MOUTH
Some people have the misconception that Ozone is a pollutant and wonder if it is safe at all; they are often mistakenly referred to as a pollutant and think it is unhealthy. The opposite is true. Ozone (O3) is a naturally occurring and energized form of Oxygen; it is extremely safe, effective, and non-toxic to human cells but disintegrates the cell wall of pathogenic or “disease-causing” microorganisms which we call infection. These pathogenic microorganisms live together in what is called a biofilm. This biofilm supports a mixed type of infection made of bacteria, fungi, yeast, viruses, and parasites. The greatest holistic approach to ozone therapy is that kill “disease-causing” microorganisms without damaging any healthy tissues.

How Does Oxygen / Ozone Therapy Work?
Ozone has a chemical composition of O3; Oxygen has a chemical composition of O2. The extra oxygen in O3 makes ozone to be bioactive and a potent oxidant. The extra oxygen in O3 carries an electro-negative charge; all infection carries a positive charge, and healthy human cells are electro-neutral hence O3 is naturally attracted to the source of infection.
When ozone is introduced into a living system, it reacts with biomolecules (PUFA, antioxidants) present in the plasma; the reaction yields hydrogen peroxide (among other possible ROS) and liquid oxidation products (LOPS). The sudden rise in plasma concentration of hydrogen peroxide generates what is called a “transient oxidative burst”. The infective microorganisms have no natural defense against oxidative burst and as a result, they die.
The oxidative burst exhibits antimicrobial actions and induces a multitude of natural biochemical and physiologic reactions:
- It stimulates the cytokine system in the cell, which helps to clear out the infection.
- It activates mitochondria, which in turn supports the mechanism involved in clearing inflammation
It stimulates better blood flow, amplifies immune responses, and speeds up more rapid healing responses while decreasing the risk of post-surgical infections.

Ozone Therapy Used For...
Ozone therapy is used in dentistry in a variety of ways, including:
- Dental Cleaning & Preventive Care – We use ozone to harden tooth structure, reducing sensitivity in teeth that are week or worn down.
- Decay– Ozone gas will subsequently harden early cavities.
- Cosmetic Dentistry – Ozone makes teeth whitening faster and more effective
- Periodontal Disease – Ozone therapy kills the bacteria and removes waste products from the gum without damaging the healthy gum.
- Oral Surgery & Implant Placement – Ozone helps post-surgical recovery by combating bone infection, osteomyelitis, NICO lesions, and sterilizing the sockets.
- Root Canal Therapy – Ozone can clean infected root canals and smallest canals or tubules and sometimes reverse root canals.
- TMJ Pain – Ozone can help to manage the TMJ pain and heal the TMJ joints.
- Ear Insufflation – Ozone can promote healthier sinuses and upper airways
- Sensitivity – Ozone gas can harden the tooth structure, resulting in significantly less sensitivity

EXCELLENT Based on 316 reviews Posted on Joy KeithTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This office and its staff are the best. Life changing experience for my health and wellbeing. Whole health is the focus and it means more than I could have thought. Thanks.Posted on Noelle PerkinsTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. If you choose this office, go in expecting that estimates may increase significantly, that costly add-ons such as ozone therapy and exosomes may be included, and that your out-of-pocket costs may be far higher than what you are initially led to expect. I initially received treatment here for two elective extractions—one upper molar and one lower molar—both of which had prior root canals with mild, localized inflammation at the root apex. These were not emergency procedures or full-blown infections. I chose this office specifically for its proactive, holistic approach. After the extraction of the upper molar, I experienced a serious complication. Despite an ozone wash and bone grafting, I developed a severe sinus infection that lasted nearly a month and required antibiotics. When I contacted the office for guidance, I was told it was unrelated and advised to see my primary care physician. I was not asked to return for evaluation to determine whether this was a surgical complication requiring follow-up. During healing, a Maryland bridge was placed to maintain spacing at a cost of $1,200 out of pocket. Unfortunately, it was several shades different from my natural teeth and very noticeable when I spoke and smiled. Around this time, I was also given an Invisalign quote from this office that was more than double what I received from two other practices. At that point, I felt consistently upsold, the pricing lacked transparency, and the quality of work did not meet expectations. Because of these experiences, I lost trust and paused treatment. I later returned only to avoid the hassle of switching offices and because I believed I understood what to expect. I was told I would need a sinus bump, received a quote, placed a deposit, and scheduled surgery accordingly. After my deposit was placed, the treatment plan changed. I was then told I required a full sinus lift instead of a sinus bump, at a cost approximately $3,000 higher than previously discussed. When I asked reasonable questions about why the plan changed—especially given that the sinus infection and collapse followed an extraction performed at this office—I felt dismissed, was told the increase was due to material costs, and was blamed for returning months later rather than given a clear explanation. At no point was there acknowledgment that the initial extraction may have contributed to the complication, nor any discussion of shared responsibility or goodwill adjustment. I was not expecting a free procedure, but I did expect accountability, transparency, and some recognition of a poor outcome following care provided here. Insurance coverage also ended up being significantly less than what I was initially told to expect, further increasing my out-of-pocket costs. I understand that complications can happen. What I did not expect was to feel continuously upsold, to have treatment plans and pricing change after deposits were placed, and to ultimately be held fully financially responsible for outcomes that followed care provided at this office. I requested my deposit back and chose to seek care elsewhere.Posted on Nastaran BayatTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. 🚨SCAM ALERT 🚨 You just need to walk in this place for them to charge you $400.
