Root Canal & Autoimmune Disease, Chronic Illnesses From Your Oral Health

Root Canal & Autoimmune Disease, Chronic Illnesses From Your Oral Health

Your mouth is a gateway! You may have already heard this multiple times from Dr. Maryam Horiyat across her other videos, or might have read about it in our other posts.

Today, it is no secret that while root canal therapy can provide some short and mid-term solutions, it is definitely harmful in the long run. As you might have already watched in the video above, root canals can bring some more immediate and imminent issues that are surprisingly difficult to diagnose too.

Having said that, let’s get into how root canals can lead to autoimmune and other chronic illnesses.

What Is Autoimmune Disease?

So basically an autoimmune disease is any illness in which your immune system becomes overactive and starts to attack and damage your own body cells and tissues on a cellular level. These are often caused by allergies or extremely high levels of inflammation. There are 5 main factors that may trigger your immune system and cause autoimmune diseases. These are:

  1. Toxins
  2. Microbes
  3. Allergens
  4. Poor Diet
  5. Stress

Now since stress is a factor that we can hardly control, it is more practical to try and reduce the other 4 factors.

Where Does Oral Health Come Into Play?

Where Does Oral Health Come Into Play

The reality is that your mouth, and everything in it, is not separate from the rest of your body. Your jaw and teeth are as well attached to your body as every other tissue and organ so why should they affect your body any less? They really don’t! In fact they may be playing a more dominant role than one may initially think.

The hard truth is that the infections or toxicity present in your mouth can be even more problematic than other areas because both them and their results are too difficult to properly diagnose.

One of the areas such toxicities and infections will touch upon is your immune system leading to unwanted health conditions such as autoimmune disease.

The number of substances and factors that can result in this are countless in conventional dentistry. That is why we always advise all patients to see a holistic dentist. Unfortunately some of the damage made is sometimes irreversible.

Let’s take a look at some of these now.

Fluoride

One great example is fluoride. It is the commonly found product that is used in conventional toothpastes and other dental products.

Fluoride has been proven to trigger death in many different cells such as thyroid cells leading to thyroid inflammation and autoimmune diseases including Hashimoto’s Disease!

Amalgam

If you have ever watched any of Dr. Horiyat’s videos on YouTube, been around this website or have spoken to her or any other holistic dentist, you are already well aware of how toxic amalgam and silver fillings are. There is even a method for it called SMART which stands for Safe Amalgam Removal. Do you see the word “Safe” in the name? It is because it is so dangerous that removing it requires a whole other safety measures and techniques to have it removed. You can read all about it here.

These are often made up of over %50 of heavily toxic mercury which can lead to the activation of the immune system. This can go as far as MS ( also known as Multiple Sclerosis), ALS and so much more!

Toxic Metals

Many dental crowns are made from toxic metals such as aluminum, nickel, cadmium, lead and arsenic. And that is not just in dental crowns. All those are present in many different types of crowns, partial dentures and many other appliances too!

What does that mean? It means that all those could lead to many different allergic reactions and a wide variety of autoimmune diseases such as Hashimoto disease, MS, ALS, eczema and so many more!

Nickel is widely used in many Dental materials as part of metal alloys which can lead to the development of allergies. Prolonged exposure to Nickel in the mouth could cause the immune system to misfire and as a result, the patients get autoimmune conditions like eczema and SCMA.

Titanium Dental Implants

Titanium is also another one of those toxic metals but why is it getting a title for itself? Because while crowns are placed outside of your gum tissue, titanium dental implants are implanted inside your bone and gums so they are in more direct contact with your body than crowns or other appliances are!

Titanium dental implants are metal implants that could also trigger the immune system causing various health issues. Although titanium dental implants are thought to be safe by conventional dentists, many reported data show that the titanium could trigger the immune system and cause allergic reactions and a variety of autoimmune diseases in the body.

What Dr. Horiyat always recommends are metal-free zirconia dental implants which are %100 biocompatible. You can read more about those here.

Infected Dead Root Canal

Infected Dead Root Canal

Now that we have had some of the more obvious ones out of the way, let’s focus on infected root canals!

One of the most hidden and overlooked reasons behind autoimmune diseases are infected root canals. Infected dead root canal teeth could lead to many different autoimmune diseases depending on its tooth position and its Meridian Link (see meridian chart here).

A root canal is essentially a dead tooth. The procedure is basically scraping out all the living tissue within the tooth itself. Infected root canals are not only roots of immune diseases, they are also one of the main causes behind cancer.

Cancer expert Dr. Josef Issels states that nearly %98 of the patients who visit his cancer clinic are diagnosed with some sort of infection in a root canal treated tooth.

Also, Toxicology expert Dr. Boyd Haley claims that his studies show a dramatic 90% of root canals are filled with dozens of pathogens.

Final Words

Does this mean that if you have been treated with a root canal you are en route to cancer or some harsh autoimmune disease? Definitely not! But they have been known to play some role in getting there.

So what is the solution?

Firstly, try to maintain your dental hygiene as well as you can and attend your dental appointments on time. Now if the bad fortune strikes and you need a treatment, do not opt for a root canal. Instead go for a full extraction and replace the tooth with a zirconia dental implant. You can book a free consultation session for this matter through this page

Secondly, if you have a tooth that has already been treated by root canal, make sure to visit a proper holistic dentist such as Dr. Horiyat at Aria Dental and follow the course of treatment they recommend.

Thirdly, if you have any metal fillings in your mouth have them removed by a SMART certified professional. You can also book a session for that here at Aria Dental. Click here to be redirected to the page.
